Security and privacy
Clinical rigor, with data too.
These are the principles we follow, in broad strokes. Technical and contractual details are worked out with the institution’s IT and legal teams before the pilot.
AI-generated patients
The patients in the simulation are generated by AI from the cases. Practice does not rely on real patient data.
LGPD and data minimization
We process only the data needed for educational use, in line with the LGPD (Brazil’s General Data Protection Law) and what is agreed with the institution.
No commercial use of data
Student and institutional data are never sold or used for advertising.
Human decision
AI gives the first score. Faculty review it and can adjust any score, always with a recorded rationale.
Individual access
Students and faculty sign in with their own accounts, and each instructor follows their own class.
Practice kept apart from grades
In tutor mode, the score is for practice and stays out of the grade. Mistakes made while learning don’t count against the student.

Do we need to install anything?
No. Dewe Med runs in the browser. Since the encounter happens by voice, students only need a microphone. The one on their computer or phone works fine.
Who creates the cases?
Faculty. They describe the case in their own words, and an AI-assisted interview asks for whatever is needed to complete it. The instructor reviews every detail and sets the answer key.
Does AI replace faculty?
No. AI gives the patient a voice, supports the student, and provides the first assessment. Faculty create the cases, set the answer key, follow the class, and can adjust scores with a rationale.
Can encounters be in English?
Yes. Before entering the exam room, students choose between Portuguese and English. The assessment follows the same four steps.
Does the tutor affect the grade?
No. In practice with the tutor, the score is for practice and does not count toward the grade. In graded mode, AI scores the encounter at the end and the score counts toward the grade.
